Clik here to view.I’d like to extend a warm welcome to all of you who will be visiting Powderhorn Park for this year’s Powderhorn Art Fair. This event is truly amazing! Whether this is your first time or have been here many times, you’ll find that the event is always fresh and new, with many exciting artists displaying their creations and food vendors that represent all corners of the world. While thousands of people enjoy this event every year, it has traditionally produced a lot of waste that we have started to think about differently.
A major commitment that we’ve made, as event organizers, is to work towards becoming a truly green event. As our ability to compost and recycle more items evolves within our communities, so will the ability at our events. Last year, we composted or recycled about 70-80% more waste than the previous year. To put this in perspective, that’s the equivalent of roughly seven green trash dumpsters that remained empty, due to participants taking the time to dispose of items properly. That’s quite impressive!
We’d like to continue on our quest, so as you enjoy the Fair, please join us in our efforts by disposing of compostable/recyclable materials into appropriate containers located throughout the park. I hope you enjoy the Fair and look forward to seeing you at the park!

At the Art Fair
There will be five strategically placed waste stations positioned throughout the event. Each waste station includes a 10 x 10 tent, green flag marker, waste stations banners, and three types of waste receptacles (organic waste, recyclable waste and trash waste).
The five stations will be the only locations to discard waste for the two-day event – allowing trash to be funneled to these identifiable waste stations.
All park single trash and recycle waste cans/barrels will be removed from the park during the event. Volunteers will be at each waste station assisting and educating art fair goers about the proper way to dispose of their waste.
